This is the first time that Kafka, 35, has received head coaching interest. He joined the Giants before the 2022 season and called plays under first year head coach Brian Daboll. Kafka and Daboll helped lead New York out of a five-year playoff drought and all the way to the NFC Divisional Round before they lost to the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Cardinals fired head coach Kliff Kingsbury after the 2022 season, just 10 months after he signed a six-year contract extension. Arizona finished 4-13 this season, the worst record in Kingsbury’s tenure.
