There are four trim levels for the 2023 Wrangler 4xe. These include the Wrangler Willys 4xe, the Sahara 4xe, the Rubicon 4xe, and the High Altitude 4xe.

The Willys costs $54,745, the Sahara $56,845, the Rubicon $61,080, and the High Altitude $63,115. This is the MSRP and does not include added fees such as the destination fee and anything your dealer may decide to tack on. You may need to consider the extra options that can take your Wrangler 4xe to the next level.

Once you add in the destination fee for the High Altitude Wrangler, the price increases to $64,910. The advanced safety group costs $1,045, the cold weather group $1,345, the smokers group $30, and the trailer-two and heavy-duty electrical group $1,145. This increases the price to $68,475 and gives you options such as heated seats, adaptive cruise control, and class II Receiver Hitch.

Upgraded mirrors add $195, the integrated off-road camera $795, hinge-gate reinforcement $675, Sky one-touch power-top $2,050, all-weather floor mats $170, hardtop headliner $525, cargo tub liner $45, windshield tie-down $40, soft top window storage bag $75, grab handle $80, plastic door sill guards $125, and Jeep trail-rated kit $195. When you total everything together, you’re looking at $73,445.

However, this may not be the price you get when you’re ready to purchase. Jeep warns, “Pricing and product content may vary significantly between website and dealer as a result of supply chain constraints. Pricing shown is nonbinding and does not constitute an offer. Contact your dealer for updated vehicle pricing and product availability.”

What kind of specs do you get for this price?

The 2023 Jeep Wrangler High Altitude 4xe comes with a 2.0L I4 DOHC DI Turbo Phev engine, which generates 375hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. This is paired with an 8-speed shiftable automatic and comes with four-wheel drive. It also has a max towing capacity of 3,500 lbs and a max payload capacity of 1,280 lbs.

It has a ground clearance of 10.1 inches and a curb weight of 5,100 lbs. There aren’t a ton of exterior colors to choose from. There is only black, white, and two shades of gray.

Safety features include blind spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and traction control. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay come standard.

Is the 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe worth the cost?

A few short years ago, consumers were eager to buy the Jeep Wrangler because it was the only SUV on the market that allowed you to remove the doors and roof while going off-road. When Ford brought the Bronco back, and now the Wrangler has some significant competition. So is the High Altitude worth the price you pay when you can buy a Bronco for $32,295 to $73,780?

Wranglers are not perfect by any means and are often scolded for not being great on-road vehicles. Still, most Wrangler owners aren’t buying them for their superior gas mileage or smooth ride. Then there’s the fact that Broncos aren’t exactly easy to come by at the moment.

As long as you understand where the Wrangler shines and where it doesn’t, you probably won’t have any issues with the 2023 Wrangler 4xe. If you can afford it, that is.
