DISTRICT 3

The postseason rolled on with the District 3 tournament taking place during the morning session on Sunday at North Hunterdon.

Livingston was strong from the start, finishing at the top of the overall standings and earning victories at sabre and foil. Lindsey Minor, Eleanor Vandevusse, and Dilnna Oraedo combined to win an epee title for Columbia.

The top three overall teams in each District will advance to the NJSIAA “Sweet 16″ Team Tournament. Here, that will be Livingston, Columbia, and Montclair. Additionally, fencers can qualify for the NJSIAA Individual Tournament. This will consist of the top three fencers on the A strip, top two on the B strip, and top one on the C strip.

At foil, Livingston saw all three fencers qualify for the Individual Tournament. Jasmine Chen was victorious on the A strip while Anusha Bansul and Alexandra Bae also advanced.

Lindsey Minor continues to be one of the top epee fencers in the state. She finished at the top of the A strip at this weapon while Montclair’s Sela Feig won sabre.
