ANTHONY THANK YOU. IT’S ANOTHER STEP FORWARD FOR OMAHA’S HENRY LOUIS ZOO AND AQUARIUM. CRITICS SAY YOU WERE THERE TO SEE THE PLANS. YEAH, WELL, THIS AFTERNOON WE GOT TO LOOK AT DESIGNS FOR THE ORANGUTAN FOREST. THE ZOO INVITED US TO SEE SOME OF THE NEW RENDERINGS. THE PROJECT WILL RENOVATE THE EXISTING HABITAT FOR THE ZOO’S ORANGUTANS AND WHEN FINISHED, YOU’LL BE ABLE TO STAND RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE CREATURES WITH A CLEAR BARRIER SEPARATING YOU FROM THE ORANGUTAN. THIS ORANGUTAN EXHIBIT WILL BE AMONG THE AMONGST THE TOP IN THE COUNTRY. THE SPACES THAT WE WILL PROVIDE THE ANIMALS WILL ALLOW THEM TO DISPLAY EVERYTHING THAT ORANGUTANS DO. PRIVATE DONATIONS WILL FUND THE $21 MILLION PROJECT. THE ZOO EXPECTS THE RENOVATED HUBBARD ORANGUTA

The latest project at the Henry Doorly Zoo will put people face-to-face with orangutans — with a clear barrier between them.Private donations will fund the $21 million project.The zoo showed off the designs for the Hubbard Orangutan Forest on Friday.The project will renovate their existing habitat.The zoo hopes to open the forest by May 2024."This orangutan exhibit will be amongst the top in the country. The spaces we will provide the animals will allow us to display everything orangutans do," Zoo President and CEO Luis Padilla said.
