Buddy Dwayne Long

Mr. Buddy Dwayne Long, 76, of Troy, passed away 6:55 p.m. Friday, February 3, 2023, at his home.

Buddy was born Monday, April 1, 1946, Troy, son of the late Ben and Katie (DeWitt) Long. He was also preceded in death by his son: Bobby Breeden; and his great-granddaughter: Amora Grace Baker.

He was a truck driver for the former Reelfoot Packing Company and Barker Brothers Waste. Buddy, also known as Papa, was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Vietnam conflict and attended Graves Chapel Church of God near Hornbeak.

He married Martha (Breeden) Long Sunday, February 22, 1970. She survives.

He is also survived by two sons: Danny Daniels and Jamie Long (Penny), both of Martin; two daughters: Lisa McDaniel (Doyle) and Heather Pate (Mike), both of Troy; 21 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; one sister: Lee Cleek (James), of Troy; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother William Matheny will officiate. Burial will follow in Elbridge Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services on Tuesday.

Pallbearers will be John Davis, Kevin Green, Ricky Green, Lisa Treece and Don Shepherd.
