[UPDATE 9:24 a.m.] High Speed Vehicle Pursuit Southbound on Hwy 101 Passing Hwy 36

Law enforcement is in pursuit of a light blue, 4-door sedan traveling in speeds in excess of 100 mph southbound on Hwy 101 from Fortuna.

As of approximately 8:20 p.m., law enforcement had lost sight of the vehicle at the Rio Dell Davis exit due to heavy fog

UPDATE 8:23 a.m.: The vehicle hit a fence at the Davis exit and the driver got out of the vehicle and footbailed through a field.

UPDATE 8:26 a.m.: The vehicle is a blue Infinity Jaguar.

UPDATE 8:28 a.m.: The driver was involved in a theft of the Tractor Supply in Fortuna. At least one item was mentioned over the scanner–a realistic looking BB gun.

UPDATE 8:32 a.m.: Law enforcement is tracking the suspect through the field.

UPDATE 8:35 a.m.: The suspect (who is a white male adult, mid twenties, 6′, skinny, blonde hair, wearing a blue grey t-shirt and blue jeans) is reportedly in the area of the power facility, according to officers speaking over the scanner.

UPDATE 8:56 a.m.: The suspect was reportedly seen heading southbound at the Scotia/Rio Dell bridge.

UPDATE 9:04 a.m.: The Jaguar is lightly damaged and down a small embankment, according to a report over the scanner.

UPDATE 9:08 a.m.: The stolen pistol from Tractor Supply (probably the bb gun though that wasn’t explicitly stated) has been recovered, according to emergency personnel at the scene.

UPDATE 9:24 a.m.: A Rio Dell resident allowed us to use this photo of the Jaguar off the side of the roadway.
