Richard NicholsonHudson – Richard Nicholson, 74, of Hudson, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family. His love, honesty, integrity, patience, and smile will be missed by all.

Richard, fondly referred to as Nick by family and close friends, was born and raised in Hyde Park, MA. He was the son of the late George and Grace (DeFlurin) Nicholson. He grew up in a beautiful family with sisters, Nancy Cichetti and Ann Noyes, and brothers, Paul Nicholson, Roger Nicholson, John Nicholson, and Bob Nicholson. He attended local schools and was a graduate of Boston Technical High School. Soon after graduation, Richard enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served during the Vietnam conflict.

After returning home, Richard met the love of his life, Denise (DeMont) Nicholson. Besides his dazzling good looks, Richard’s kindness, sense of humor, and quick wit captured the heart of his future wife. Together they married and moved to Hudson, MA where they had two sons, Marc and Todd.

Richard supported his family by utilizing his technical skills at New England Telephone, Teletype, AT&T, NCR, and ACT. He always put family first and often worked long hours to ensure his family was living the best life possible.

During his free time, Richard would often go on family trips to Cape Cod and the White Mountains. He always looked forward to a round of golf with AA friends, especially trips to Myrtle Beach S.C. He also enjoyed fishing at local spots and venturing to a new spot (after researching of course!). Richard adored his time with Luna, the family dog. She often kept him company as he appreciated his delicious Breyers Chocolate Ice Cream while watching the Red Sox. Richard was looking forward to the addition of the family in the marriage of his son, Marc, and fiancé Caroline Graciano.

Most of all he cherished time he shared with his family and friends. He leaves behind many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He will be greatly missed by all that had the pleasure of meeting him.

Relatives and friends are invited to a period of visitation from 4-7pm on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson, MA. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at Saint Michael Parish, 21 Manning St., Hudson, MA. Burial services will be private at the convenience of the family.
