Get ready to indulge in some sugary treats as you hit the road with the Pasadena Complete Streets Coalition on February 11. The group’s ‘Second Saturday Ride’ for the month is all about savoring the finest donuts that Pasadena has to offer.
This 12-mile loop around the city is not only scenic but also a fun way to experience Pasadena’s vibrant food scene. You’ll be stopping at three local donut shops, where you’ll get to taste some of the best and complimentary samples!
The route has an elevation gain of 415 feet, mostly along calm residential streets. The only challenge is a relatively gentle climb at the start of the ride, but don’t worry, it’s worth it, organizers say.
Don’t miss out on this sweet adventure! Whether you’re a seasoned rider or a newbie, everyone is welcome to join. But remember, helmets are required by law, and all riders must sign a waiver before starting the ride. No training wheels are allowed, and children riding on their own should be able to average 12 mph. Younger children and pets are welcome as long as they are riding safely in a trailer or on a family cargo bike.
You can get to the starting point either by biking to the start or taking the Metro L / Gold Line to Memorial Park Station. Other options include Foothill Transit, Metro Buses, and Pasadena Transit. Paid street parking is available, but please check local parking restrictions.
Don’t forget to bring some cash if you want to purchase additional donuts on the road. And don’t forget your bike, a spare tube, tire levers, bike multi-tool, and pump.
Please note that the ride will be canceled in the case of inclement weather. The organizers will email early on Saturday morning if the weather will affect the ride. So, keep an eye out!
