Tickets Go On Sale Monday for Choral Magic in the Making, As the Los Angeles Children’s Chorus Returns to the Stage

Published on Feb 5, 2023

The Los Angeles Children’s Chorus (LACC) announced its return to the stage with two special performances in May. With the success of their sold-out Winter Concerts, demand for tickets to both performances is expected to be high.

On May 7th, LACC will be returning to the LA Philharmonic’s ‘Sounds About Town’ series at Walt Disney Concert Hall, one of LA’s most well-known concert venues. With nearly 300 choristers from six different LACC ensembles, this will be an unforgettable opportunity to experience the magnificent acoustics of the hall. The program will showcase works spanning nearly four centuries, including world-premiere performances of new compositions written specifically for LACC by Ellen Gilson Voth, Derrick Skye, and Pedro Osuna.

On May 14th, following their performance at Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Apprentice Choir, Intermediate Choir, and Young Men’s Ensemble will take the stage at Pasadena Presbyterian Church for the 2023 Spring Concert. Each ensemble will be performing its full spring repertoire, making this a night to remember. The concert will also mark the farewell of Associate Artistic Director Mandy Brigham, after 22 years of dedicated service to the LACC.

Don’t miss out on these one-of-a-kind performances — but be aware that due to LA Philharmonic policy, children under 6 will not be permitted into Walt Disney Concert Hall for the May 7th performance. (Masking guidelines for this concert can be found on Walt Disney Concert Hall’s Safety Policy.)

There are other conditions to know: Masking guidelines for this concert can be found on Walt Disney Concert Hall’s Safety Policy. All attendees will be required to wear a mask at all times while inside Pasadena Presbyterian Church on May 14th. Proof of vaccination is no longer required for entry to the concert.

In addition to the May performances, the LACC Preparatory Choir will be performing in a separate solo concert on April 16th. Stay tuned for more details on ticketing for this concert. Parents of singers in the First Experiences in Choral Singing Ensemble and First Experiences in Singing classes will also be invited to end-of-season informal demonstrations.
