OHIO — A national survey from the Cleveland Clinic found access to healthy food seems to be the primary barrier to a heart-healthy diet. The price of healthy food and the time and skill needed to prepare meals were the top cited reasons for a lack of access.

The survey also found a lack of access disproportionately affects Black Americans, 20% of whom noted it was hard for them to access stores selling healthy food, compared to 15% of white Americans.

Spectrum News 1 Ohio was joined by cardiologist Dr. Tamanna Singh, with the Cleveland Clinic, to discuss this further.
