SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – A female passenger was ejected and killed, and the driver was arrested in a single-vehicle crash on a downtown San Diego street early Monday morning.

The crash happened at around 3 a.m. in the 1200 block of First Avenue, near B Street, according to San Diego Police.

Police stated the 2003 Toyota sedan was heading northbound “at a speed that was unsafe for conditions” and hit a guardrail abutment, which led to the car rolling over.

A 26-year-old woman sitting on the front passenger’s side was ejected on impact and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police at the scene told ABC 10News that the victim was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The 24-year-old female driver was evaluated for DUI and arrested on suspicion of drunken driving.
