Pasadena Media Tech Company StoryCo Closes $6 Million Seed Funding Round

StoryCo, a Pasadena-based media technology platform for collaborative storytelling, has closed a $6 million seed funding round with investment from Collab + Currency, Patron, Floodgate Ventures, Blockchange Ventures, Sfermion, Flamingo DAO, and individual investors. 

The platform is set to launch its groundbreaking storytelling platform, where Hollywood creators and fans can work together to create new media franchises and participate in their success.

The company has also announced the release of its first ‘story universe,’ called “The Disco Ball,” led by Story Architect Kyle Killen and artists shelby and sandy. “The Disco Ball” is an immersive, interactive narrative experience that will unfold across the StoryCo platform, social media, and real-world interactions. The story follows a team of astronauts on a journey to save the multiverse and can only be completed with the help of the community. Community members can claim a StoryPass to collect and earn digital art related to key story moments and characters, and control the future of the story.
