Doctor Who star Peter Davison would be up for another cameo after his surprise return in 'The Power of the Doctor'.

The classic Doctor Who actor, known for portraying the fifth incarnation of the Time Lord in the 1980s, was among the returnees in Jodie Whittaker's finale episode.

"I'm always very happy to come back," he told RadioTimes.com about a possible return.

"I was very envious of the special effects. We didn't have a lot – we're mainly down to green screen and rather cumbersome rubber monsters," he explained.

"It's a thrill to be a part of the digital age but, at the same time, when David Tennant first took over as the Doctor in 2006, I went along to see the filming."

Davison said that not much has changed since his time in the TARDIS and that the Doctor Who set has maintained a chaotic behind-the-scenes energy.

"I was very pleased to see the actual programme – although it looked much better with all the special effects on the screen, it was still made with the same degree of chaos and panic and nobody knew what the heck they were doing, as it was when I made it," the actor said.

"Nothing really ever changes, despite the technology."

At present, there aren't any plans for a Davison cameo in Russell T Davies' new series, kicking off with the 60th anniversary specials later in the year. But now the classic Doctor has thrown his hat in the ring, fans better keep their eyes peeled for another reunion.

Doctor Who returns in 2023 on BBC One in the UK and Disney+ elsewhere. Meanwhile, in the US, the show airs on BBC America, with series 1-12 available on HBO Max. Classic Doctor Who streams on BritBox in the UK.
