For the first time this year, gas prices see a drop across the region

Average gasoline prices in Asheville have fallen 2.7 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.29 per gallon Monday, according to GasBuddy's survey of 259 stations in Asheville. Prices in Asheville are 17.7 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and stand 1.9 cents per gallon higher than a year ago. The national average price of diesel has fallen 5.2 cents in the last week and stands at $4.60 per gallon.

According to GasBuddy price reports, the cheapest station in Asheville was priced at $3.08 per gallon Sunday while the most expensive was $3.66 per gallon, a difference of 58.0 cents per gallon. The lowest price in the state Sunday was $2.63 per gallon while the highest was $3.99 per gallon, a difference of $1.36 per gallon.
