Marion County area high school students competed at the Iowa High School Speech Association State Contest Saturday in Cedar Rapids.

The following schools had shows earn overall Division I “superior” ratings from a panel of judges:
Pella – 13 total
Pella Christian – 5 total
Pleasantville – 5 total
PCM – 1 total

Knoxville joined the other five schools in having participants at state — and those not mentioned above earned a Division II “excellent,” mark.
