(Conway, MA) After the North Poland bridge was unexpectedly closed down in November by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) due to its condition being deemed “unsafe for travel,” the replacement project is making progress.

The temporary bridge is currently being put in place. The Town of Conway wrote in an update, “The temporary bridge on North Poland road is moving quickly. We would like to thank the state for the speed this project has progressed.”

There will be a live virtual public hearing for the design of the replacement with MassDOT on Thursday, February 16th at 7 p.m. At the meeting, the design for the replacement will be shared, which includes a widened bridge allowing for two lanes of traffic. Comments will be taken for advisement as the design progresses.
