The NBA world is still buzzing from Kyrie Irving being sent from the Brooklyn Nets to the Dallas Mavericks. The All-Star point guard demanded a trade earlier this week, and the Nets were able to strike a deal with the Mavericks that sent back Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith, and draft compensation.

It took until late Sunday evening on the West Coast, and early Monday morning on the East Coast for Irving to break his silence on the trade, but he has finally put out a message to the Brooklyn Nets and their fanbase. In a Tweet, Irving said, "Thank you NetsWorld fans and supporters for the Love on and off the court. I will forever be grateful I got to live out my dream I had as a Kid with y’all. It will always be Love from me and my family."

It was an unsuccessful and often chaotic tenure in Brooklyn for Kyrie Irving, who was part of just one playoff series win during his time with the Nets. Often finding himself in the middle of off-court drama, Irving was never able to establish himself as the reliable co-star alongside Kevin Durant that so many hoped he would be.

The Nets will now have to shift their focus to building a championship roster around Kevin Durant, as the team has indicated no plans to blow things up entirely.
