Boys basketball: Newark Academy tops Morristown-Beard - Prep B Tournament 1st rd.

Dylan Wapner produced 16 points and three assists as fourth-seeded Newark Academy dispatched fifth-seeded Morristown-Beard 48-40 in the first round of the Prep B Tournament in Livington.

Newark Academy will visit top-seeded Montclair Kimberley in the semifinal on Sunday.

Zach Shirodkar tallied 12 points and five assists along with four steals and Ayotunde Fagbemi grabbed 15 rebounds and had four blocked shots for Newark Academy (4-18). Jaden Simon had nine points and five rebounds and Isaac Stein chipped in with eight points.

Morristown-Beard fell to 3-16.
