Customer fails to return rental equipment to store: Brunswick Police Blotter

BRUNSWICK, Ohio

Theft: Center Road

A Home Depot employee called police Jan. 5 to report that a man who had rented a $19,916 excavator and trailer from the store and was to return it Dec. 12 had not done so. There was no further information at the time of the report.

Drugs: Pearl Road

A Strongsville man was cited for drug possession and illegal window tint at 9:34 p.m. Jan. 8 following a traffic stop for the window tint. Marijuana was also found inside the car.

Threats: Hemlock Court

Police were called to a fight at a residence at 12:07 p.m. Jan. 6. Both men involved in the fight had already left, but officers were able to contact them later.

One of the men said the other had threatened him with a handgun. Police advised him to contact the city prosecutor to pursue charges.

The other man denied having a handgun, reports said.

Impaired driver: Pearl Road

A driver was pulled over at 2:31 a.m. Jan. 7 for speeding and was found with marijuana inside his car.

He was arrested for speeding, drug possession and driving under the influence of alcohol, but later passed a breath test. He was cited for the other two offenses and was released.

Theft: Magnolia Drive

A woman reported a check stolen from her mailbox between Dec. 28 and Jan. 8 by an unknown person, who then attempted to cash it at a bank.

Employees at the bank flagged the check as fraudulent and refunded the woman’s account. There were no suspects at the time of the report.
