Frisco is seeking responses after sending out a survey to businesses and residents regarding possible plans for a business promenade and parklets on Main Street this summer. The survey, which was sent out to all residents and businesses with a physical address in Frisco, has received 630 responses to date, but only 28 of those responses are from businesses, according to a recent email newsletter from the town.

How many of these 900 “residents” are occupants of the newly constructed Village at Wintergreen development or other workforce housing rentals — aka non-real-estate-tax-paying, non-equity-stakeholders, can-leave-the-town-at-any-time residents. Do they comprise 10% or 50% to 80% of Keystone voters? In other words, how many of the voters are actually community stakeholders, both fiscally and in terms of time-based fidelity. Conversely, how many stakeholders — aka tax-paying, long-term, but second-home owning residents — are disenfranchised from this vote? Let’s be open and honest about the numbers.

Letter to the Editor: I have bad feelings about Keystone incorporation

This is the second part of my series of letters opposing Keystone incorporation. Should we “free Keystone” from county government negligence since we are a cash cow to other county needs and receive almost nothing in return? These are the words presented by some. But is this really so bad? Do we really think that suddenly Colorado Highway 6 will be a gateway to heaven not hell? Do we need more parking since the number of ski days in the U.S. are almost flat for the last 20 years? Do we need another body of government to do something that should be done by us using proper communication petitioning our elected representatives to work harder if we as voters feel there is a need for improvement?
