The NBA world has been talking all day about the blockbuster Kyrie Irving trade. Brooklyn sent the NBA All-Star starter to Dallas in a trade for multiple players and draft picks, obliging the trade request Irving made earlier this week. After the trade went through, news of the reaction that Irving had made the rounds.

Bleacher Report writer Chris Haynes delivered the news that Kyrie was ‘ecstatic’ about the move.

“Kyrie Irving is said to be ‘ecstatic’ about the trade to Dallas Mavericks and ‘looking forward’ to joining forces with Luka Dončić,” Haynes tweeted.

It might be easy to suggest that someone who requested a trade is now thoroughly pleased that it went through.

Unfortunately, when you’re Kyrie at this point, you do not get that kind of benefit of the doubt. Suffice it to say, not very many people were buying what the former Nets star was selling.

One Twitter user noted the, um, striking similarities to how Kyrie felt after Cleveland traded him to Boston. In fact, it was almost the exact same thing!

Taylor Twellman was among those who weren’t buying what Kyrie was selling at all.

Other users continued to point out the fact that we have heard this song and dance before.

Needless to say: If you are Kyrie Irving right now, people are watching now, because he’s kind of made a habit out of this.
