Reese Witherspoon has promised fans that Jennifer Coolidge will absolutely be part of the upcoming Legally Blonde 3 following Coolidge's The White Lotus success.

Coolidge is enjoying a bounty of awards and praise as of late thanks to her iconic turn as Tanya in the HBO series. However, one of her other iconic roles was as manicurist Paulette Bonafonté, who befriended Witherspoon's Elle in both Legally Blonde movies.

Legally Blonde 3 is reportedly on the way with Mindy Kaling attached to the project. And Witherspoon has assured fans that Coolidge will be a part of the third instalment during an interview with ET.

"I'm beyond myself about Jennifer Coolidge. She deserves every one of those flowers she is receiving right now," Witherspoon said.

"And she's just one of those people who is so naturally gifted and funny and that you can just tell people love her, 'cause she gets up there and everybody's like, 'I love her,' but she's just done a lot of good work in our business for so long that it's really nice to see her getting this incredible moment."

Witherspoon added: "There is no Legally Blonde 3 without Jennifer Coolidge."

Legally Blonde 3 has long been in the works but suffered a series of delays, which Kaling explained in 2022 was due to her desire to nail the story and the character of Elle.

"We don't want to be responsible for ruining what's basically Reese's Avengers franchise," Kaling said.

"What is Elle Woods like at 42? Does she end up becoming all the things she wanted? How does that personality manifest in a grown woman?"

The project could come at no better time for Coolidge, who is on one of the hottest streaks of her career. Most recently, she won a Golden Globe for her role in The White Lotus.

The White Lotus airs on HBO Max in the US, and on Sky Atlantic, Sky Go and NOW in the UK.
