Two women face DUII charges after they drove southbound on I-5, in the northbound lanes.
Both incidents happened separately within one hour of each other.
Around 1 a.m. Saturday, a grey 2021 Nissan Kicks driven by 38-year-old Margot J. Wolfsehr crashed into another vehicle nearly head-on near the Corbett exit.
When officers arrived, they found three vehicles involved. Police say the debris crash caused the third vehicle to spin out. None of the people involved were taken to the hospital.
Roughly an hour later, 23-year-old Emely Mendoza of Salem was driving a red Prius south in the northbound lanes when she hit another vehicle, a white Ford Fusion. The driver of the Fusion suffered severe injuries including a broken leg.
He was taken to a local hospital and police say his injuries are not life-threatening.
Both Wolfsehr and Mendoza were cited for DUII, reckless driving, and reckless endangerment. Mendoza was also cited for assault in the third degree.
