Coffee & Clothes: Retro Coffee holds community clothing swap for patrons

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) —
Retro Coffee is brewing up a new way for people to shop secondhand.

The coffee shop, located at 2619 Sweeten Creek Road, held a community clothes swap Sunday, Feb. 5.

Anyone who purchased a coffee or pastry was also invited to browse and take home an upcycled piece of clothing.
"I was cleaning out my closet, and I thought, 'maybe other people are doing this.' I wanted an event that would bring everyone in from the community and around here, kind of get people talking, and I thought this would be a really good way," said Clare Lecroy, owner of Retro Coffee.

Sunday marked Retro Coffee's inaugural clothing swap, but with the success it saw, Lecroy said they aim to host another one soon.
