Patrick Beverley's Viral Tweet After The Kyrie Irving Trade

Los Angeles Lakers guard Patrick Beverley sent out a tweet after Kyrie Irving was traded from the Brooklyn Nets to the Dallas Mavericks.

On Sunday afternoon, the NBA world was in awe after Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reported that the Brooklyn Nets had traded All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving to the Dallas Mavericks.

Irving is one of the best players in the NBA and is currently averaging 27.1 points, 5.1 rebounds and 5.3 assists per contest.

Many people were giving their reactions to the blockbuster trade on social media, and one person who is a fan of the deal is Los Angeles Lakers point guard Patrick Beverley.

Beverley tweeted: "Pure smoke 💨 in Dallas. ❤️ this League"

His tweet had over 12,000 likes in less than two hours (and one million impressions).

Beverley is in his first season with the Lakers after spending the 2021-22 season with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

He is averaging 6.4 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.6 assists per contest in 44 games.

The 34-year-old is known for his elite defense on opposing guards, and with Irving joining the Mavs, the Lakers will now play him two more times this season.

Therefore, Beverley will likely be guarding Irving in both of those games.

Right now, the Lakers are the 13th seed in the Western Conference with a 25-29 record in 54 games.

As for the Mavs, they are the sixth seed in the west with a 28-26 record in 54 games.

The conference has been very close, and the Lakers are only 3.0 games behind the Mavs.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Irving will make his debut for the Mavs against the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday night in California.
