February is Black History month, and we hope you will join us in celebrating the amazing stories and people that have been a big part of Omaha’s Black History

This is an editorial from KETV president and General Manager Shawn Oswald February is Black History month and we hope you will join us in celebrating the amazing stories and people that have been a big part of Omaha’s Black History, as well as look into the future and what we all can do to make a difference. Quanecia Fraser will tell us the incredible story of Omaha’s first Black Church, established in 1867. We will profile Jason Gentry, an Omaha firefighter that is recruiting underrepresented groups to the fire department. A discussion with the leaders in the black community around Omaha’s segregation and disparities in Health Care, and profiles on two of Omaha's African American CEOs; Veta Jeffrey from the Omaha Chamber and Stephanie Hull from Girls Inc. The stories and profiles and many others will highlight the progress that has been made and the journey that lies ahead. We hope you will join us all month long as we celebrate Black History Month on KETV.
