Bowling: Manera throws 300 as Clayton takes home Tri-County Conf. Tournament title

Clayton and Lindenwold boys and Deptford and Kingsway girls each won bowling titles at the Tri-County Conference Tournament recently at 30 Strikes Lanes in Stratford. Every team bowled three games.

In Division 1, Kingsway (832-763-793) narrowly edged-out Gloucester Tech (794-732-710) in the final tally, 2,388-2,236. Gloucester came in third place with 2,129 pins.

Deptford, in Division 2, totaled 1,856 pins (565-689-602) across its three games, finishing ahead of second place Atlantic Tech, which had 1,707.

Clayton led wire to wire as well finishing with 2,953 pins (1,035-933-985) for tops in Division 1 on the boys side. Overbrook came in a close second with 2,883 pins while Washington Township took third with 2,748. Seven of the eight teams totaled over 2,600 pins in the competitive race.

Lindenwold won Division 2 with 2,596 pins (918-793-885), besting Salem Tech’s 2,460.

The boys high game went to Clayton’s Michael Manera, who carded a perfect 300. Ryan Blackewicz from Washington Township recorded the high series of 703.

Annabelle Carter from Gloucester Tech stared for the girls notching the top series (608) and top game (212).
