The Blue Spruce Art and Antique Gallery in Florence is celebrating its 22nd annual February “Sweetheart Sale”.

During the month of February, the gallery offers 20 percent off most items. Choose from oil paintings, watercolors, blown glass, beaded and custom silver jewelry, photography, stoneware pottery, sculpture, Native American items, antiques, and more. This is the only sale of the year in the The Blue Spruce Art and Antiques, so don’t miss out on an opportunity to get an original piece of artwork from your favorite local artist, or to take home that lovely antique that you have been eyeing. Many of the artists will be bringing in new work for the February member show, which opens on Feb. 9, with a reception on Second Saturday, Feb. 11 from 4 to 6 p.m.

The Blue Spruce Gallery is a cooperative of local and regional artists, and often visitors can watch them working on their artwork while running the gallery. Call for more information. Open seven days a week. Blue Spruce Gallery, 205 W. Main, Florence. 719-784-1339.

Call for Artists for the 38th annual Mountain Arts Festival

After over 30 years, the Mountain Arts Festival is moving to a new location in Woodland Park. The new location is just a couple of blocks from the old one in Memorial Park, Woodland Park. This new location will have more space for additional artists and food vendors. The date has also been changed to the second weekend in August (Aug. 12 and 13) when fewer competing activities are occurring.

The Mountain Artists look to 2023 to be bigger and better than ever. The annual Mountain Arts Festival is calling for artists for this year’s show and the deadline is May 1. Applications for this juried show can also be obtained from the website at www.themountainartists.org

In addition to the Mountain Artists annual summer show, they also have their members-only show in November, the student art show in the spring, and their scholarship program.

Artists interested in joining the organization can pick up an application at the Woodland Park Chamber of Commerce, or can find the application at the website mentioned above.
