CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Chicago police have issued an alert about a thief who allegedly robbed three women in Loop parking garages in the last 10 days.

The most recent robbery was Saturday at 3:15 in the afternoon. Chicago police said a thief punched and pepper sprayed a woman in a parking garage near Washington and Wells Streets.

Police said the victim went to Northwestern Hospital for treatment while someone tried to use her stolen credit card, which was declined.

The first robbery happened Jan. 26 in a parking garage near Randolph and State Streets at 10 a.m. The second was Wednesday night on the 11th floor of a garage across the street from the one where Saturday’s robbery took place.

CWB Chicago reported the victim said the thief threatened her and implied he had a gun.

Police said they believe the same person is responsible for the three robberies and described the suspect as wearing a black and brown puffy coat.
