Good samaritans save man; Legislative Coffee sessions kick off; Mainly quiet Sunday for weather

Quick action by some good samaritans saved an elderly man and his dog from the icy water in northwest Iowa Saturday.


Lawmakers from Minnehaha and Lincoln counties met with voters Saturday during the first of three Legislative Coffees in Sioux Falls.


Wiener dogs were off and running on the ice for the Sioux Nation Pet Clinic Wiener Dog Races during last night’s Stampede hockey game against Des Moines. The 16th annual races took place between periods.


It’ll still be a nice day to get out and enjoy some early February sunshine, with highs in the upper 20s and 30s East River and 40s to low 50s out west.
