The second suspect of a stabbing that took place recently at the Palmer Court Apartments in Salt Lake City and resulted in the death of 34-year-old Charles Alires was taken into custody overnight Saturday.
Members of the Salt Lake City Police Department reported that officers with the agency's Liberty Patrol Division were able to locate 43-year-old Taddy Avalon Jackman with the help of community members sometime overnight Feb. 4 into Feb. 5 while conducting a follow-up investigation on the case near Fayette Avenue and 200 West.
According to police records, officers were able to arrest Jackman without issue.
Authorities noted that members of SLCPD's Crime Lab along with detective's with the Homicide Squad responded to the address after the arrest to gather evidence.

Jackman was ultimately booked into the Salt Lake County Metro Jail on one murder charge.
The other suspect in this case, 26-year-old Ivy Chase Grant, was taken into custody sometime Saturday morning and booked into the Salt Lake County Metro Jail on one obstruction of justice charge.
This investigation began shortly before 4 p.m. Thursday when officers received a report of a stabbing at the Palmer Court Apartments, located at 999 South Main Street.
Officers arrived on scene and reportedly found Alires in critical condition.
While medical personnel responded to assist and life-saving efforts were performed, Alires died on the scene.
