The Norwalk bowling teams closed out the dual season on Saturday, both losing to Gilbert at the Air Lanes Bowling Center in Des Moines.

Gilbert won the girls dual by just 43 total pins, edging the Warriors 2209-2166. The Tiger boys prevailed by a final count of 2783-2526.

The Norwalk girls, who finished with a dual record of 5-5, were led by Julia Palen’s high game of 182 and two-game series of 320. Kate Desmond posted a 279 series, followed by Elivia Stout’s 264 and Ellery Racz with a 253.

Norwalk’s Michael Wetzel bowled the highest single-game score of the day with a 225 and also led the Warriors with a 384 series. Ashton Robinson rolled a 355 series, followed by Emerson Fels with a 332 and Ethan Racz with a 294. Jaxson Swift and Fels rolled single-game scores of 207 and 205, respectively. Norwalk finished the dual season at 4-6 overall.

Next up for the Warrior bowlers is the Little Hawkeye Conference Tournament at Oskaloosa’s Statesmen Lanes. The girls meet is Friday at 9:00 a.m. and the boys will bowl on Saturday at 9:00 a.m.
