At SummerSlam 2022, Becky Lynch unsuccessfully challenged Bianca Belair for the RAW Women’s Championship. After the match, Becky turned babyface, before being interrupted by the returning Bayley and NXT call-ups Dakota Kai and IYO SKY (Io Shirai)
However, Becky Lynch had to spend several months out of action thereafter, nursing an injury she suffered in her match against Bianca Belair. Meanwhile, Bayley feuded with the RAW Women’s Champion, before The Man returned on the go-home episode of SmackDown before Survivor Series: WarGames to join Team Belair.
Team Belair defeated Team Damage CTRL at the event, and the two “Horsewomen” have been involved in a bitter rivalry ever since.
At RAW XXX last week, Becky Lynch and Bayley were supposed to collide in a Steel Cage Match, but Damage CTRL assaulted Lynch prior to the bell ringing, rendering a No Contest. The match was reportedly cut short due to time constraints. Nevertheless, a rematch has now been scheduled for next week.
This week on RAW, Bayley took shots at Becky Lynch’s marriage to Seth Rollins in a promo. Playing into his marriage with Becky Lynch and his close real-life friendship with Bayley, Rollins had an interesting reaction to their upcoming match on RAW. He said,
“In Orlando on Monday, big steel cage match I hear is happening, I will not be hanging in a shark cage above it.”
