Division rival Cam Jordan takes shot at Tampa Bay following Tom Brady's retirement

The NFC South is seemingly up for grabs in 2023 with Tom Brady moving on.

Tom Brady opened up February by hanging up his cleats for a second time. That leaves the Buccaneers in a predicament with the team seemingly in win-now mode but now in the hunt for a new quarterback. Though Tampa Bay just won the NFC South in back-to-back years for the first time in franchise history, opposing teams are sensing a possibility to take back the division.

The 2023 NFL Pro Bowl is taking place this week and that has some of the stars of the game on display leading up to the Super Bowl. While speaking to NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe, New Orleans Saints star defensive end Cameron Jordan offered his thoughts on Brady stepping away from the game. Jordan was respectful to one of the greatest players that football has ever seen but couldn't resist taking a shot at the Buccaneers, his longtime division rival.

"Well, this time he was able to say he was putting it up for good, right?" Jordan said. "Last time, there were too many leaks that happened, it tainted, let the man retire. We salute him, we salute him and wish him the best in whatever next endeavor that is."

"We're glad that he's out of the division," Jordan continued. "Tampa Bay will probably go back to where Tampa Bay's been."

The Buccaneers swept New Orleans in 2022 despite finishing with an under .500 record in the regular season. It was the first time that the franchise had defeated the Saints in the same season since 2007. New Orleans leads the all-time series 39-24 entering 2023.

Regardless, the Saints aren't in a much better situation. First-year head coach Dennis Allen led his squad to a 7-10 record last year, finishing third in the division. It was the first losing season by New Orleans since 2016 and the franchise has plenty of things to figure out moving forward.

Once again, the NFC South projects to be one of the weaker divisions across the league this upcoming season.
