A stretch of Interstate 5 in Marysville was briefly shut down Saturday night after a report of shots being fired from a car window, the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office announced.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies received a “suspicious call” reporting gunshots being fired out of a car window. Deputies found the vehicle near 116th Street Northeast and I-5.

The freeway was shut down in both directions from 116th Street Northeast to just south of State Route 531 as deputies stopped the car. A gun was found in the car, but the sheriff’s office said there were no victims.

The roadway has since reopened and there is no threat to the public.
