Two people were rescued after officials said they fell through ice at a reservoir in northern Utah.
Weber Fire District crews said they responded with Ogden City Fire, Weber County Heavy Rescue Team, and the Weber County Sheriff’s Office to a water rescue at approximately 6:15 a.m. on Saturday.
Upon arriving to the scene at Pineview Reservoir, they said they found two people had fallen through the ice and a bystander had stopped to provide aid.
Both patients were reportedly treated at the scene by ambulance crews. One patient was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries and for further evaluation, officials said.
They are advising everyone to use extreme caution when recreating around the reservoir, as "looks are deceiving."
Due to water flowing into the lake, officials said its frozen layer is inconsistent, thin and unstable.
