Game of Thrones star Kit Harington has announced that he and Rose Leslie are expecting their second child together.

The couple, who played Jon Snow and Ygritte respectively on the HBO show, married in 2018 before welcoming a son in 2021.

Appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Harington was asked by the host about his two-year old, before sharing the good news.

“He is about to get the shock of his life, which is that he’s about to get a brother or sister,” he revealed.

“I'm terrified. You know with the first baby, you’re like, walking on clouds and dancing through fields and daisies for nine months? This time the reality check comes much shorter and you get practical real quick.”

The actor, who is starring in new movie Baby Ruby, continued further by adding that his first child hasn’t fully grasped that he’ll be having a sibling.

“[He] doesn’t quite conceptually understand it just yet,” said Harington of his son. “We are trying to get him ready for it and we point at Rose’s tummy and we say, ‘Mummy’s baby, mummy’s baby’ and he points at his tummy and goes, ‘My baby, my baby.’”

Harington will also star in the upcoming Apple TV+ drama Extrapolations, which released its first images last month. The series boasts a star-studded cast, with Meryl Streep, Edward Norton, Marion Cotillard and Tobey Maguire all attached to the project.

Ahead of its premiere next month, series creator and director Scott Z Burns outlined the concept, saying: “The only thing we know for sure about the future is that we are all going there together – and we're taking with us our hopes, our fears, our appetites, our creativity, our capacity for love and our predilection to cause pain.

“These are the same tools that storytellers have been using since the beginning of time. Our show is just using them to keep time from running out,” he concluded.

Game of Thrones seasons 1-8 are available on DVD and Blu-ray. House of the Dragon airs on HBO in the US, and on Sky Atlantic and NOW in the UK. Extrapolations will premiere on Apple TV+ on March 17.
