TULSA, Okla. — The Golden Hurricane men's basketball team is back in the Donald W. Reynolds Center to welcome its oldest rival Wichita State on Sunday afternoon.

Tipoff for the American Athletic Conference matchup is set for 2 p.m. and will air on ESPN+. Josh Haley and Bryndon Manzer will bring fans the action. Bruce Howard and JR Rollo will broadcast the radio call on Big Country 99.5 FM and The Varsity Network app.

Tulsa (5-16, 1-9 The American) and Wichita State (11-11, 4-6 conference) meet for the second time this season. The two teams faced off in Charles Koch Arena in Wichita, Kan. on Jan. 14. Despite holding a 14-point halftime lead, Tulsa fell to the Shockers 69-73. The Hurricane finished hitting just one of its final seven attempts from the floor allowing Wichita State to take its first lead of the game with 1:10 to play.

Sunday marks the 139th meeting between the two schools, the most by any Tulsa opponent. The Shockers hold a 75-63 advantage in the series, but the Hurricane enjoy a 36-31 lead on games played at home.

The Hurricane is looking to get back in the win column after dropping its past three games, including an 81-55 loss at Cincinnati on Wednesday. The Bearcats used a 16-0 run midway through the first half to take control of the game. Sam Griffin scored 15 and Anthony Pritchard scored 12 to pace the Tulsa team. Bryant Selebangue recorded a new season-high 15 rebounds to go with his eight points.

Griffin and Selebangue lead the way for the Tulsa offense, averaging 15.7 and 12.7 points, respectively. Griffin and Brandon Betson provide firepower from deep, combining to connect on 99 of Tulsa's 165 3-pointers this season. Betson is shooting at a 46.9 percent clip from 3-point range, which leads the conference.

Selebangue's game against Cincinnati upped his rebounding average to 9.6 boards per game, which ranks him 24th nationally and still tops The American. He also ranks 11th nationally for his field goal shooting, hitting on 64.1 percent of his opportunities.

Wichita State visits Tulsa with a .500 record after going 2-3 since the teams met in January. In their last game, the Shockers gave No. 3 Houston all it could handle, but eventually fell 70-61 to the highly ranked Cougars.

Jaykwon Walker and Craig Porter Jr. pace the Wichita State offense, with 13.9 and 12.2 points per game, respectively. Porter Jr. also leads a group of four Shockers who average 5.5 or more rebounds per game, pulling down 6.0.

Defensively, the Shockers are difficult to break down, holding opponents to 39.4 percent from the field, which ranks 17th nationally and third in the conference. Wichita State, like the Hurricane, also makes it difficult on teams shooting from deep, limiting teams to 31.4 percent on 3-point shooting, while opponents shoot just 30 percent against Tulsa.

Following Sunday's game, Tulsa will head back on the road for a pair of matchups. First is a rematch with No. 3 Houston on Wednesday before the first meeting of the season with UCF on Saturday evening. Tipoff for Wednesday's game at Houston is set for 7 p.m. and will air on ESPN+.
