Before Stars head coach Pete DeBoer left for Florida to coach the Central Division team at the All-Star weekend, we gave him the Ted Lasso treatment. Y'know ask a few questions and get to know him better.
Happy to say on the concert one, he didn't say Spice Girls (that's inside humor for you Ted Lasso fans). Anyway, here's a deep look into the mind of Pete DeBoer.

First concert, best concert?
DeBoer: First concert was Simple Minds in Toronto at Wonderland. I was probably 16 years old. They played the theme song to The Breakfast Club, which was huge at that time. And best concert, I saw the Rolling Stones in New Jersey and then both Bruce Springsteen and Lady Gaga made a guest appearance for two of the songs. We had no idea it was going to happen, so it was awesome.
First car, best car?
DeBoer: First car was a gigantic, I think it was '77, Ford Thunderbird. And this wasn't in '77, this was in 1987, so it was 10 years old. It was a monstrous, four-door car, there was a lot of rust on it and it was baby blue. I can't imagine what it would cost today to fill it with gas. But the thing was like a tank. You could run into a tree and survive, and I think that was the goal my parents had when they bought it. Best car? I'm not a really picky car guy, so I just go with the company car, whatever it is. Cars aren't my thing.
Movie recommendation?
DeBoer: My favorite movie of all time is Almost Famous. I love that it's a true story, I love the acting, and I love the music in it. It was just a great era.
Are you a big music guy?
DeBoer: I am. We go to a lot of concerts. I grew up in that era and my wife Susan is a Senior Staff Writer for DallasStars.com and has covered the Stars since 1994. Follow him on Twitter @MikeHeika.*
