The Lakers enter the evening tied with the Oklahoma City Thunder for the 12th seed in the Western Conference (they are 25-28 in 53 games).

They are 6-4 in their last ten games and in the middle of a two-game winning streak.

On the road, the Lakers have gone 12-16 in 28 games.

Earlier this season, they beat the Pelicans 120-117 in overtime (at home in Los Angeles).

The Pelicans were one of the best teams in the NBA through the first few months of the season, but they have now fallen all the way to the 11th seed.

They are in the middle of a ten-game losing streak and are now 26-27 in 53 games.

That said, they have been very good at home, going 17-9 in the 26 games they have hosted in New Orleans.

If the Lakers beat the Pelicans, the two teams will be tied in the standings.

Last season, the Lakers missed the NBA Playoffs, while the Pelicans lost in the first round to the Phoenix Suns after winning their two play-in tournament games.
