Three people and five dogs were displaced Saturday morning following a fire in Long Beach’s Wrigley neighborhood, authorities said.

The fire broke out around 4:11 a.m. in the 2700 block of Golden Avenue, according to the Long Beach Fire Department.

When fire crews arrived at the home, they discovered flames coming from the attic, LBFD spokesperson Jake Heflin said. The three occupants and the dogs had already been evacuated, and firefighters worked to contain the flames to the attic.

It’s not clear how much damage the fire caused to the home, but Heflin said it was enough to displace the residents and require a response from the American Red Cross to provide them with further assistance. No injuries were reported, he added.

Fire investigators also responded to the scene to determine the cause.
