Dustin Poirier responds to Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler fight news - ‘TUF: All My Children edition’

It didn’t take long for Dustin Poirier — someone with a vested interest in a certain Irish sports star — to respond to the big The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 31 news.

Earlier today (Sat., Feb. 4, 2023), Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President, Dana White, announced that former “double champ,” Conor McGregor, will make his long-awaited return to the Octagon to fight Michael Chandler after the pair are done coaching TUF 31.

Poirier — who has rich (and successful) history over both men — was not impressed, needing just five words for a mic drop.

“The Diamond” wrote, “TUF all my children edition” shortly after the announcement.

Poirier was the last man to beat Chandler at UFC 281 in Nov. 2022 (watch it) and McGregor, too, at UFC 264 via doctor’s stoppage (see it). As a result of the two finishes, Poirer views both of them (in his mind) as their “father.”

As for the coaches themselves, they both need wins, especially the Irish superstar, who hasn’t been in the win column since early 2020. Chandler, meanwhile, is just 2-3 since entering UFC in 2021; however, the competition level has been insane —there’s no shame in losing to Charles Oliveira, Justin Gaethje and Poirier.

There’s a reason the 36-year-old has picked up a “Fight Night” bonuses in four of his fives fights inside the Octagon.
