Despite a late start time, the UFC is business as usual for its February 4 event. The main event will be a heavyweight bout between Derrick Lewis and Sergey Spivak.

UFC Vegas 68 takes place inside the UFC’s APEX Center in Las Vegas. The UFC planned to produce a fight night in Seoul, South Korea. Following an injury to “The Korean Zombie,” the event was moved to Las Vegas. Regardless of the venue change, the UFC Vegas 68 main card will still start at 1 a.m. ET.

History will also be made at the event. Analyst and commentator Laura Sanko will be making her UFC color commentary debut. She is the first female color commentator in the modern UFC/Zuffa era to call an official UFC event. Sanko has worked with the UFC since 2016, working as a backstage reporter and providing commentary on Dana White’s Contender Series.

“Taking the next step to join the UFC commentary team has been a goal of mine since I began my broadcast career,” Sanko said in a release. “It is an honor to walk in the footprint of Kathy Long 30 years after her appearance on UFC 1. I consider it a true privilege to be part of the team that is a voice to our incredible fans, communicating the fighting art of each man and woman who steps inside the UFC Octagon.”

Making his pro debut in 2010, Lewis joined the UFC in 2014. He is 17-8 with the promotion and holds the record for the most knockouts (13) in UFC history. Lewis is 1-3 in his last four fights and has lost two in a row via knockout. His last fight was a questionable TKO loss against Sergei Pavlovich in July.

Lewis was supposed to fight Spivak in November but had to back out of the bout. He later revealed that he suffered from a long battle with COVID-19. Healthier than ever now, he is ready to get back on track.

“I probably had COVID for three weeks after that,” says Lewis, via Sports Illustrated. “It was just hard. But I’m feeling good. I trained even harder for this fight. I’ve heard about the suffering that can come from COVID when it comes to your lungs. So I trained hard, and I’m feeling healthy. I haven’t had any issues.”

Spivak made his pro debut in 2014. A WWFC heavyweight champion, Spivak joined the UFC in 2019. He is on a two-fight win streak, his last bout a TKO win over Augusto Sakai in August.
