The Central College basketball teams head to Dubuque for the second time in three weeks this afternoon for an American Rivers Conference doubleheader at Loras College.

After falling 76-67 to Nebraska Wesleyan University on Wednesday, the Dutch men are set for a pivotal matchup in the league. The Duhawks snuck past Coe College Wednesday in 79-75 win to force a tie atop the conference standings with Central. With their sights set on regaining sole possession of first place in the ARC, the Dutch will hope to duplicate their performance against Loras from January 7th. Central used a 48-point second half to power past the Duhawks in an 83-71 victory.

The Dutch women face another measuring stick as to how far they’ve come this season against a tough Loras squad. Central dominated Nebraska Wesleyan 66-38 on Wednesday and pulled out a 69-63 road win at the University of Dubuque on January 28th. Meanwhile, the Duhawks have cruised past Buena Vista, Simpson, and Coe in their past three games with 20-plus point victories. In the early January meeting, the Dutch fell to a then ranked Loras squad 69-55.

This afternoon’s doubleheader from Lillis Court at the Loras College Athletic and Wellness Center can be heard live on 92.1 KRLS beginning with pregame coverage at 1:45 p.m.
