NOW. THE WGA L NEWS 8 STORM TEAM FORECAST WITH METEOROLOGIST ETHAN HUSTON. THIS IS THE CORE OF THE CODE THERE THAT IS SITTING OVERHEAD. SOME OF THE COLDEST AIR WE HAVE SEEN IN THE SUSQUEHANNA VALLEY SINCE LATE DECEMBER. BUT THE COLD DOES NOT HOLD. WERE BACK UP WELL ABOVE AVERAGE TOMORROW. WHERE TO CHALLENGE 50 DEGREES FOR OUR SUN DAY AND THEN AS WE HEAD THROUGH NEXT WEEK, OUR WEATHER PATTERN DOES START TO TURN UNSETTLED WITH MULTIPLE DAYS WILL BE DEALING WITH THE CHANCES FOR SOME PASSING SHOWERS BUT OUTSIDE RIGHT NOW FOR THE CARLISLE MILL ICE AND ARTS FEST SHOULD BE GOOD WEATHER FOR THE ICE. TEMPERATURES WILL REMAIN BELOW AVERAGE IN THE WINDS WILL NOT BE AS INTENSE AS YESTERDAY, BUT THIS MORNING IT IS FRIGID, DOWN TO 14 DEGREES. DEW POINT OF ONE BELOW FEELS LIKE IT’S JUST SIX ABOVE WHEN YOU FACTOR IN THE WINDS. SKIES ARE MOSTLY CLEAR. THEY WILL STAY MOSTLY CLEAR AS WE GET CLOSER TO SUNRISE AND THROUGH THE DAY. JUST SOME PASSING HIGH LEVEL CLOUDS AT TIMES AND A FEW OTHER CLOUDS BUBBLING UP AS WE HEAD THROUGH THE AFTERNOON. SO PASSING HIGH LEVEL CLOUDS EVENTUALLY WILL SEE SOME CLOUDS THICKEN UP AS WE GET CLOSER TO SUNSET, BUT IT STAYS COLD. TEMPERATURES TODAY TOP OFF IN THE UPPER TWENTIES TO NEAR 30 DEGREES. IT’S GOING TO FEEL LIKE IT’S IN THE TEENS THROUGHOUT THE DAY. THE WINDS WILL START TO RELAX. WE’LL SEE MORE CLOUD COVER BUILD IN TONIGHT. THAT’S GOING TO SLOW THE COOLING PROCESS. SO LOWS WILL BE NOT AS COLD AS THIS MORNING, ONLY DROPPING TO THE LOW TO MID TWENTIES AND THEN UP WE GO. HIGHS UP NEAR 50 DEGREES FOR YOUR SUNDAY AND THEN WE COULD SEE SOME PASSING LIGHT RAIN SHOWERS JUST A FEW OUT THERE LATE TOMORROW EVENING INTO TOMORROW NIGHT. MADE IT TO 37 YESTERDAY, BUT THAT WAS BEFORE THE COLD FRONT ARRIVED RIGHT AROUND 4:00 IN THE MORNING AT HARRISBURG INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT. WE DROPPED THE 15 BY MIDNIGHT. IT HAS BEEN VERY WARM THIS WINTER. WE HAVE ONLY HAD TWO DAYS BELOW AVERAGE SINCE THE 27TH OF DECEMBER. ALL OF JANUARY DAYS WERE AT OR ABOVE AVERAGE. SO THIS FEELS WEIRD OUT THERE, DESPITE THE FACT THIS IS A SEASONABLE CHILL OUT THERE WHERE TEMPERATURES AT TIMES DO DROP BELOW TEN DEGREES. SO HERE’S A LOOK AT THE WINDS RIGHT NOW, RELATIVELY LIGHT, BUT THEY DO HAVE A BITE. FEELS LIKE IT’S JUST TWO ABOVE IN HARRISBURG. FEELS LIKE IT’S FOR IN LANCASTER. FEELS LIKE IT’S THREE IN YORK. HERE ARE THE AIR TEMPERATURES. IT’S 11. ELIZABETHTOWN 12 AND LANCASTER 12. ALSO IN LANDSBERG, IT COULD BE WORSE. LOOK AT THIS INCREDIBLE CHILL, 20 BELOW RIGHT NOW IN MONTREAL, 13 BELOW IN PORTLAND. SO HERE’S THE CORE OF THE INTENSE COLD AIR. WE’RE JUST GETTING A GLANCING BLOW. HIGH PRESSURE IS BUILDING IN OVER THE OHIO RIVER VALLEY. THIS WILL KEEP OUR WEATHER DRY AS WE HEAD THROUGH THE WEEKEND AND EVENTUALLY AS THE RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE STARTS TO MOVE OUT TO SEA, THE WINDS WILL START TO TURN RIGHT OUT OF THE SOUTH, BRINGING IN THAT MILDER AIR FROM THE DEEP SOUTH. SO HERE WE GO. ON THE PREDICTOR, THERE GOES THE RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE. STILL GOT CLEAR SKIES EARLY THIS SEASON, BUT THE CLOUDS WILL THICKEN UP OVERNIGHT AS THE WINDS START TO PICK UP AND TURN OUT OF THE SOUTHWEST TOMORROW IS GOING TO BE A PLEASANT DAY. IT’S JUST GOING TO BE FAIRLY GLOOMY AS WE’LL HAVE LOTS OF MOISTURE COMING IN FROM THE SOUTHWEST AND AN APPROACHING STORM SYSTEM ACROSS THE GREAT LAKES. THERE IS THE CHANCE, THE SLIM CHANCE OF AN ISOLATED SHOWER LATE TOMORROW EVENING OR TOMORROW NIGHT, AHEAD OF AN INCOME IN COLD FRONT. AND THAT COLD FRONT IS GOING TO BE PRETTY WEAK. IT’S JUST GOING TO DROP TEMPERATURES BACK DOWN A COUPLE OF DEGREES, HEADING INTO MONDAY. SO BITTERLY COLD TODAY. AND THEN THAT’S IT. WE’RE BACK UP WELL ABOVE AVERAGE AS WE HEAD THROUGH NEXT WEEK. BUT AS WE GO THROUGH NEXT WEEK, OUR WEATHER PATTERN IS GOING TO BE UNSETTLED. SO WE COULD SEE A FEW PASSING SHOWERS LATE TOMORROW EVENING AND TOMORROW NIGHT. THERE IS A CHANCE FOR A FEW ISOLATED SHOWERS TUESDAY NIGHT INTO VERY EARLY WEDNESDAY. BETTER CHANCES FOR SHOWERS WILL RETURN TO THE REGION THURSDAY INTO FRIDAY. AND THERE IS A CHANCE THERE COULD BE A COASTAL STORM NEXT WEEKEND THAT C
