Editor’s note: This is the bottom half of the 22nd and final chapter, “The Downcity Plan,” from Lost Providence. Chapter 22 concludes Part II of the book, whose final two chapters record the two major projects that sparked the Providence renaissance, which followed a series of major hiccups in the city’s development, which have been described in the other chapters of Part II, reprinted here over the past several months. The epilogue, which I’ve not yet decided to reprint, sums up the lessons Providence and other cities should learn from our city’s recent decades of history.

Writing workshops, webinars, a write-in, and more throughout the month. In tandem with their yearly writers’ residency program, Linden Place has partnered with community organizations and schools that include School One/WriteRI, What Cheer Writers Club, Roger Williams University Dept. of English and Creative Writing, and the Bristol Historical Society to create a month of programming for writers and would-be writers. The events are an expansion of the Linden Place Writers Residency program which provides 8 selected Rhode Island writers with free workspace, $100 travel stipend, consults with a sensitivity reader, research support and more.

Students will have the opportunity to meet with representatives from these companies, learn about job opportunities, network with professionals in their field of interest, and interview for part-time and full-time summer jobs.

Hello! I’m Tarra and I am about 3 years old, I was found as a stray as we all seem to be. I am a playful girl who LOVES her people, all people, I have many adoring fans. As much as I love people, I am not fond of other dogs BUT I can walk past them and I am very well behaved.
