Nick Khan Claims Vince McMahon Is Open To Leaving WWE After Sale

Vince McMahon’s return to WWE last month for the purpose of executing a sale of WWE and negotiating new television deals saw his daughter Stephanie McMahon resign as the co-CEO of the company. Stephanie’s departure made Nick Khan the sole CEO of WWE.

While speaking to CNBC, Khan discussed the potential sale of WWE, noting that Mr. McMahon, who is currently serving as the Executive Chairman of the WWE Board, is open to leaving once a deal is reached.

You can check out the highlights from the interview below:

On McMahon possibly stepping down as part of a sale: “Vince has declared to the board he’s 100% open to transactions where he’s not included in the company moving forward… if it’s the right deal — and we will take a look at all of the factors that make it the right deal.”

On WWE’s value to a potential buyer: “We feel the marketplace is robust for our product. It’s in essence it’s own sports league. Someone can buy it and put it on their platform.”

On Thursday’s Q4 earnings call, Khan declared that McMahon would step down from his position if it was in the best interest of shareholders.
