Naomi “Ellen” Luse, 90, of Waynetown passed away Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2023, at Franciscan Health Crawfordsville.
She was born Feb. 20, 1932, at Rockville, to the late Frank Todd and Claire Marjorie (Nevins) O’Haver.
She graduated from Rockville High School and went on to attend Indiana State Teachers College where she received a bachelor’s and master’s degree in education. She married the love of her life Harvey “Cocky” Luse on April 14, 1957. He preceded her in death Dec. 6, 1969.
In 1994, Ellen retired from teaching at Pleasant Hill. She attended Waynetown Christian Church and was a member of the Retired Teachers Association in Montgomery County. Ellen was an avid reader. She enjoyed music and playing the piano in her free time.
Ellen is survived by son Frank Todd (Sandy) Luse; two daughters, Garth Ann Reed and Jennifer (Barry) Hickman; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nephew Todd Fisher.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Mary Meek and Frances Fisher; and son-in-law Michael Reed.
Cremation was chosen with a graveside service at 11 a.m. March 18 at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Sanders Shoemaker Funeral Care is entrusted with Care.
