The David J. Thatcher VA clinic hosted an open house for veterans and their families in Missoula on Friday. The event also served as the clinic’s one-year anniversary.
During the open house, veterans had the opportunity to enroll in VA health care, learn about new health care policies and what services the Missoula clinic offers.
“We've acquired more audiology equipment. We can do full audiology exams -- hearing tests -- get the veterans hearing aids,” said Diana Mills, lead telehealth technician.
Mills also highlighted new telehealth-related equipment doctors use to evaluate patients, like listening to their heartbeat and lungs.
Officials also urged veterans who aren’t enrolled to consider the VA for their health care.
“If there are veterans out there who have not checked us out, please do. Our eligibility requirements change frequently,” said Dr. Judy Hayman, executive director at VA Montana health care.
The open house also offered veterans an opportunity to screen for toxic exposure.
