(Atlantic) Denison-Schleswig opened up a big lead early and never looked back in a 66-47 road win over Atlantic on Friday night.
Four players scored in double-figures for the Monarchs. Carson Seuntjens led the charge with 17, Luke Wiebers 13, Lance Arkfeld with 11, and Jaxon Wessel 10.
The Monarchs outscored the Trojans 20-7 in the first quarter and led 40-16 at the break. Seuntjens led the charge with 12 first-half points, including two scores from behind the three-point line, Wessel knocked down a three, and 6’8 Post Lance Arkfeld contributed nine first-half points.
The Trojans improved their offensive output in the second half, outscoring the Monarchs 31-26, but well off the points needed to rebound from the big first-half deficit.
Colton Rasmussen led Atlantic with 14 points, Caden Andersen, 9, Jackson McLaren, 8, Carter Pellett, 6, Nolan Waters, 5, Garrett McLaren, 4, and Jayden Proehl scored two points.
The Monarchs are now 12-4 on the season. Atlantic falls to 7-12.
